Your first consultation at Olive3 is an opportunity to discuss your fertility concerns, health history and priorities with Physician Koh Soo Hoon. You do not need to decide on treatment before arriving: the conversation and assessment come first.

Before your appointment

If available, bring:

• semen-analysis results and other fertility reports

• a list of current medicines, injections and supplements

• your partner’s fertility context, where you are comfortable sharing it

• your current IUI or IVF schedule

• questions you would like to discuss

What will be discussed?

Physician Koh Soo Hoon may ask about your fertility journey, general health, sleep, digestion, energy, stress, exercise and daily routines. She will also ask about existing diagnoses and treatment so that recommendations can be considered in context. Consultations are available in fluent English and Mandarin.

What does a TCM assessment involve?

A TCM consultation may include discussion, observation, pulse-taking and tongue examination. Your physician explains the assessed pattern using traditional concepts such as Kidney Qi (a TCM functional concept), Yin and Yang (complementary qualities in TCM theory), or Qi and Blood (functional activity and nourishment). Fertility reports provide additional information that can be considered when planning your care.

Will treatment begin immediately?

Not necessarily. The first step is to understand your needs and explain suitable options. Depending on the individual assessment, care may include acupuncture, Chinese medicine, lifestyle guidance or another appropriate TCM approach. You can ask about the purpose, practical details, costs and alternatives before deciding.

If you are undergoing IUI or IVF

Bring your schedule and tell Physician Koh about all prescribed medicines and supplements. Discuss your TCM plan with your fertility clinician too, so timing, interactions and procedure precautions can be coordinated. Do not alter prescribed medication or postpone recommended investigations without consulting the responsible clinician.

How is follow-up planned?

Frequency is not fixed in advance. It depends on your assessment, preferences, circumstances and existing medical care. Progress and priorities can be reviewed as your situation or treatment stage changes.
