HOW THIS SUPPORT FITS
Fertility care shaped around your circumstances.
Some patients visit while preparing to conceive, while others are already undergoing investigations, IUI or IVF. Your first consultation helps establish what is relevant to you before any approach is recommended.
Care may include: a personalised TCM assessment, acupuncture, Chinese medicine and practical lifestyle guidance, where appropriate.
TCM is complementary care. It does not replace medical fertility assessment, prescribed treatment or advice from your fertility specialist.
Care begins with a detailed conversation about your menstrual cycle, general health, sleep, stress, digestion, lifestyle and any relevant medical or fertility information. Physician Koh will explain the TCM assessment and discuss whether acupuncture, Chinese medicine or practical lifestyle guidance may be appropriate.
1. Preparing to Conceive

For women trying to conceive naturally, care is planned around the individual rather than a standard programme. Reviews may consider changes in the menstrual cycle and overall wellbeing. Recommendations are adjusted over time, while medical evaluation remains important when pregnancy is delayed or concerns arise.
2. Trying to Conceive Naturally

TCM may be considered as complementary care while you are receiving treatment from a fertility specialist. Please share your medication and procedure schedule so recommendations can be considered in context. TCM does not replace fertility investigations, prescribed medication, procedures or specialist advice.
3. Alongside IUI or IVF

Needs can change following fertility procedures or after pregnancy is confirmed. Any TCM care is considered individually and should be coordinated with your medical team. Pain, bleeding, severe symptoms or pregnancy concerns require prompt assessment by an appropriate medical professional.
4. After Treatment and During Pregnancy

Care is reviewed rather than fixed in advance. Physician Koh will discuss your experience, changing circumstances and current medical plan before recommending the next step. Where a concern falls outside the scope of TCM, appropriate medical assessment or referral should take priority.
5. Ongoing Review

FERTILITY CARE IN CONTEXT
A considered approach to fertility support.
Understanding the individual
Fertility journeys differ. A consultation may consider menstrual history, previous pregnancies, current symptoms, lifestyle, sleep, stress and information from medical investigations. The purpose is to understand the wider context and decide whether TCM care is suitable—not to make assumptions from a single symptom or offer a guaranteed outcome.
Working alongside IUI or IVF
If you are receiving assisted reproductive treatment, your fertility specialist remains responsible for investigations, medication, procedures and medical decisions. Please keep Physician Koh informed of your treatment schedule and any changes to medication. TCM recommendations are considered as complementary care and should not delay or replace specialist treatment.
What care may involve
Depending on the assessment, care may include acupuncture, Chinese medicine and lifestyle guidance. Not every option is suitable for every patient. The proposed approach, expected practical considerations and review timing will be discussed before you decide whether to proceed.
When medical care comes first
Fertility concerns may require medical investigation. Seek prompt medical attention for severe pain, heavy bleeding, fainting, breathing difficulty or other urgent symptoms. During pregnancy, new pain, bleeding or significant changes should be discussed promptly with your obstetric or medical team.
